Chicka Chicka BOOM BOOM!

We are going on week 2 of Kindy!  This week we are gonna have a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom PAR-TAY!  Here's what our week is going to look like!

Monday
We are starting out reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and yes, I will  be playing the song - and gotta LOVE Ray Charles reading the book!  After we read the book I will have a pocket chart filled with all the "Momma" (uppercase) letters.  I will pass out balloon or two to each student.  The students will pop their balloons and unfold the "baby" letters.  We will then match the Momma's to the babies - how FUN!  Here are the letters I am using - go grab them! I got this fantabulous idea from Julie Lee!

For the Tier 2/3 time we will do a fun activity from Deanna's unit (link above) called Weigh In.  I will dump letters in the middle of the table and they will hunt for the letters in their names.  We will then weigh the letter in their names with bears, pattern blocks, and paperclips.

In Math we will focus on the number 7.  I am going to make these bowling pins and have the kids color the numbers they knock over! And yes, I will bring in a coconut to bowl!
